“Leading people through their careers with Liberty National Life Insurance Company (LNL) has been more fulfilling than anything I’ve ever done,” says Tommy Pope. “Being an Agency owner affords me the privilege of helping countless others along the way. Before joining LNL in 2014, I was building houses during the day and finishing my Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Bethel University at night,” he adds.
What attracted him to Liberty National? “The fast track to management was massive for me,” recalls Tommy. “I remember being told ‘the hardest workers make the most money’. Since I’d roofed houses, thrown garbage, and swung a chainsaw in my life, hard work has always been a constant. The potential to be paid based on that work ethic meant I would shine,” he says.
“My time with Liberty National has been tremendously rewarding. I helped start a new Agency, headed up its worksite expansion, and helped jumpstart another Agency. Thanks to those around me, I’ve qualified for every Sales Convention since starting with LNL, had several weeks and months on Leaderboards, and in 2019, was selected for Liberty National’s S.E.A.L. team, a group of the Company’s top leaders,” states Tommy proudly. “Another reward is ‘paying it forward’. Nothing is more rewarding than watching someone work their way into this Company and grow personally and professionally. My ‘selfish’ reward is to know my parents are proud of me. Before my dad passed away, he told me he was happy I’d made the move to Texas to achieve more, rather than staying in my comfort zone at home. My mother is always telling me how proud she is of the career I’ve built,” says Tommy.
Tommy appreciates the value of Liberty National products. “Liberty National products relieve anxiety. Knowing their family is safe from financial strain often comes through in a sigh of relief during the sales process, or later when they’ve had a death in the family or a cancer diagnosis. On their worst day imaginable, Liberty National is their saving grace,” Tommy emphasizes.
What’s his advice to those considering a Liberty National career? “It only takes a split second to compare who you are with who you want to be. Selling is simply transferring your emotion to the buyer. If I could restart my Liberty National career, I would start with the confidence and discipline I have now, the confidence to know I can be successful and the discipline to know I am 100 percent in control of my own career,” he stresses.

In his free time, Tommy plays golf or softball, does CrossFit, and enjoys time with his four pups. He’s also a big Tennessee Titans fan, likes listening to audio books, and spending time with family.
