Bobic Alva studied radio, television, and electronic media at the University of Texas San Antonio and received his Associate RTVF degree in 2005. Before joining Globe Life Liberty National Division in 2015, he was a marketing director and comic book author. He also had experience as a surgical technician, pharmacy technician, and in business law.
A drastic life change directed Bobic to Globe Life Liberty National Division. “Just before joining Liberty National Division, my father passed away from a massive heart attack. I moved back to San Antonio to care for my mother and the house. I needed a job that provided a living wage, because comic books weren’t paying the bills. I needed something with long-term potential that allowed schedule flexibility and used my varied skill set. I attended a Career Life Briefing in Austin where the speaker talked about Liberty National Division's Opportunity of a Lifetime. Like me, she had lost her father, became head of the household, and needed exactly what I did. I spoke with her at length after the meeting and realized this is the career from which I’ll retire,” recalls Bobic.
“Globe Life Liberty National Division was put in my path for a reason. From the moment I started with the Company, I knew I wanted to be an Agency Owner. I was hired in Austin but quickly took the reins in the San Antonio market, since I lived there. This is the only job I’ve had that utilizes all my skills. It afforded me the unique opportunity to become an Agency Owner in just three-and-a –half years,” he states proudly.
“Among my greatest successes with Globe Life Liberty National Division is achieving Agency Director status only 45 days after my promotion to Supervising Agent. In one year, I promoted two Agency Directors and six Supervising Agents out of my Agency. My greatest accomplishment, however, is creating a sustainable life for my family, myself, and my Agents utilizing something I never had considered … insurance. With my current knowledge, I would have started personal recruiting the moment I got licensed. There just aren’t other products on the market with our portability, coverage, and cost. The Group Term Life is the most complete life policy I’ve seen available for the working man,” he adds.
What’s most rewarding for Bobic about Globe Life Liberty National Division? “Many college graduates today make only minimum wage. Many companies promote based only on longevity or nepotism and look down on those with trade skills,” he says. “Liberty National Division's philosophy is the opposite. Insurance certification can earn you as much or more than a doctor or lawyer without staggering student loan debt. If you’re considering Globe Life Liberty National Division, I tell you success in this field is inevitable with the right attitude. With Texans hurting for jobs, Globe Life Liberty National Division offers competitive roles that focus on certification rather than years of tuition-based education,” he says.
Community connection is a top priority for Bobic and his team. “Given my background, I have a unique perspective on charities and organizations and find the crossover lies with children and the homeless. Consequently, I’m a big supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and our local food bank serving the homeless and disenfranchised. For three consecutive years, we have participated in drives with other Globe Life Liberty National Division Agencies in Texas and collected a total of 21 tons of food,” he states with pride.
Although Bobic admits to following San Antonio Spurs basketball, he’s not a big sports fan. “I’m a complete nerd,” he says. “I still do comic book conventions and signings. In my free time I play board games, video games, and work on my next book. Friends and family, including a small army of pets, take up most of my leisure time, so any family activity that’s fun and nerdy is usually where I’ll be,” he adds.
